Consultant Opportunity: CDFI Support for Innovation Works, Inc.
Innovation Works, Inc. (IW), a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Treasury, is seeking a qualified consultant to assist with critical projects related to its CDFI status over the next year. This engagement will run from December 2024 through December 2025, with the most intensive periods of work anticipated during the first three and final three months. Hours will peak at but not sustain at 40 hours per week during those times.
Scope of Work
The consultant will assist with or manage key components of the following efforts:
- Geographic Investment Target Market Remapping: Lead or support IW in the remapping process to ensure compliance and alignment with U.S. Treasury requirements.
- Financial Assistance Application: Oversee or contribute to the preparation and submission of a funding application to the U.S. Treasury for financial assistance support.
- CDFI Recertification: Coordinate the recertification process, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IW’s internal teams, including finance, investment, accounting, and development, to gather necessary inputs and ensure seamless communication.
- Utilize the U.S. Treasury's AMIS system and geo-data tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Conduct research and analysis related to CDFI compliance, venture development, economic development, and community development best practices.
- Prepare and review documentation required for U.S. Treasury submissions.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide regular progress updates and reporting to IW leadership.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Demonstrated familiarity with the U.S. Treasury and specifically with the CDFI program.
- Expertise in venture development, economic development, and community development best practices.
- Experience using the U.S. Treasury’s AMIS system and geo-data tools.
- Proven ability to interface effectively across multiple client departments, including finance, accounting, and development.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Additional Information
This is a consultant role and is not a staff position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and engagement requirements.
